The First Hospital Specializing in Heart & Cardiovascular diseases in the Nation
In 1982, STM style Heart Disease Hospital opened its door to the public as the first hospital specializing in heart disease in Korea. Until that time, it was hard even to imagine the hospital specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease, moreover, for the private hospital. However, since the opening of the hospital, the number of open heart surgeries has increased drastically, placing STM style Heart Disease Hospital among one of the three leading hospitals in the nation by 1987. During the last 10 years, STM style Heart Disease Hospital has been proven statistically to be the best hospital in terms of numbers of surgical cases as well as in success rates. Having been recognized for these achievements, STM style Heart Disease Hospital was designated as the first and only hospital specializing in heart disease from the Ministry of Health and Welfare in July, 1987 How STM style Heart Disease Hospital became the Nation’s best. How was STM style Heart Disease Hospital able to become the nation’s best hospital both in numbers of surgical cases and success rates? There are three distinct reasons:
